We experienced so much history when we visited the Bowraville Folk Museum. Located on the main street of Bowraville, the building is deceptively small from the outside but reveals itself upon entry. It is housed in an old church and boarding house.
A magnificent collection of exhibits and displays from days gone by are on display, including relics from the original Nambucca area pioneers.
A big thank you to Gayle, Donna, Pat and Sue for welcoming us. We will return again as one visit isn't enough to take everything in!
After a morning spent at the Bowraville Folk Museum, we then visited the lovely old heritage pub known as the "Bowra Hotel" for a nice hot lunch.
The menu was amazing and the serving sizes very generous!
The friendly ladies working behind the counter run a tight ship and were very efficient in looking after us.
We often visit the Heritage Hotel situated along the Macleay River in Gladstone, a town with its fair share of historic buildings with the grand Heritage Hotel being the centrepiece. It's a hidden gem built in 1867 full of old-world charm. We find it a perfect venue and great for our Social oUTINGS LUNCHES!
