At the end of October, we began our annual pilgrimage to Ulmarra, a small town on the banks o the Clarence River, so popular we made 5 group visits!
A drive through Grafton on the way, to coincide with the Jacaranda bloom. As we approached the main centre of Ulmarra, we noticed all the renovations that have taken place in the last few months since the floods. The town has definitely been established as a must-see destination, a place filled with character and heritage.
We then had a relaxing lunch at the classic Ulmarra Pub. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the meals were delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic. We just loved everything about lunch at the Pub.
Thank you Dane and the team, we look forward to coming back again soon!
We enjoyed so many beautiful Christmas lunches at the Idle Inn Cafe in Nana Glen, a small village located about 25kms inland, north-west of Coffs Harbour.
The quaint Cape is full of character from its timber beams to the rustic furniture. Full of welcoming charm and the staff are incredibly friendly. Allison designed a special Christmas menu for us. It was hard to choose from, every dish was exceptional. When it came to dessert, they were to die for! Thank you Allison, Amy and the team. You were superb! We look forward to many more visits next year.
We had fun at our last Trivia for 2023 and realised this was our 23rd session! Time just flies when you are having fun. We also enjoyed our last movie morning for the year with a special Christmas Celebration lunch at the Chill & Chat Cafe. Everyone is looking forward to next year's adventures!
We squeezed a bit of Christmas shopping at Port Central, on our way to the Rivermark Cafe on Hastings River. A lovely lunch was enjoyed by all.
During November we paid a few visits to Carobana, a confectionery factory based in Korea. A leading supplier which developed a popular range of Carob confectionery that is both super tasty and healthier than other traditional treats. Ian showed us how honeycomb was made, and we learned all about the benefits of Carob.
Of course, we did not come out empty handed! We then popped around the corner to Opal Cove for a delightful lunch at Horizons restaurant.
